Center for Strategic Studies at the university of Anbar organized a scientific seminar on the “Legal foundations of community peace and conflict prevention.
As part of the entrepreneurship week program at University of Anbar, the center for strategic studies convened a scientific seminar entitled “The legal role in promoting community peace and preventing conflicts in Anbar Province” on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Center’s hall with the participation of faculty members and researchers.
The seminar was chaired by Dr. Tareq Hamid Mahmoud, Director of the Center, and presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Huthaifa Adel Abdul Karim, Head of the Department of Security and Community Studies. The presentation provided a systematic examination of the legal framework underpinning community peace, emphasizing its relevance to conflict mitigation and social stability in Anbar Province.
Particular attention was devoted to analyzing the Iraqi constitutional and legislative architecture governing community peace, as well as the institutional responsibilities of governmental and local authorities in conflict prevention and resolution. The seminar also addressed prevailing legal and procedural challenges that may constrain the effectiveness of institutional interventions.
The event concluded with substantive academic discussions that facilitated scholarly exchange and reinforced the Center’s research-oriented contribution to advancing social cohesion and sustainable stability in Anbar Province.
